Basil Fried Rice Bowl
Enjoy a quick dazzling bowl of fried rice
Equipment
- Mixing bowls
- Stovetop stirfry pan
- Cutting board
Ingredients
- Diced carrots
- Garlic cloves (3)
- Some ginger
- 1 scallion and 1 onion
- A few red chilis
- A handful of peas
- Tofu
- 2 cups of rice
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 tsp sesame oil
- A dash of soy sauce
- A few bunches of fresh basil
- 1 tsp of oyster sauce
- 1 tsp of brown sugar
Instructions
- Sauté diced carrots, garlic, ginger, long beans, white part of scallions/onion, Thai chili/red chili on high heat .
- Add your choice of protein (Tofu and peas), but feel free to substitute for Chicken.
- Add half a portion of leftover rice, and stir fry for 1 minute.
- In a small bowl, beat two eggs with 1/2 tsp sesame oil, 1 tsp of coconut aminos (I use Organikahealth) or you may use low sodium soy sauce.
- Move aside the rice to one side and pour the egg mix onto the other side of the wok. Swirl it around, let cool. Once 60% done, mix with the rice.
- Add the remaining rice, with sauce and continue tossing until everything is combined.
- Turn off the head, add fresh basil and mix until wilted.
